- 1lb dried northern beans
- 1lb ham steak, diced
- 2 tsp onion powder
- 6 c water
- Salt & pepper to taste
- Scallions, chopped
Serve topped with scallions and with buttery cornbread.

As a society we have lost our way when it comes to healthy eating and preparing our own meals. We rely heavily on fast food chains and pre-made boxed meals as the means to feed ourselves.
